Mark43 and AWS: Public Safety and Disaster Response Competency
Mark43 is recognized as a vendor within the AWS Public Safety and Disaster Response Competency. Many public safety software providers call themselves cloud providers, but Mark43 is the only RMS and CAD platform built on AWS GovCloud, and not migrated from an on-premise solution.
Using a cloud-native solution means you can benefit from:
- Always utilizing the latest and greatest in law enforcement software regardless of when you started using the system.
- Regular patch fixes implemented in hours or days; not weeks, months, or years.
- Feature additions that every agency receives.
- Releases that occur with zero downtime.
- Assurance that you’re always on the supported version of the platform.
- Feature upgrades require a click of a button rather than months-long upgrades.

How the Richmond Police Quickly Accesses Data with Mark43 RMS
To do their jobs effectively, police officers need to spend as much time as possible patrolling the streets of the communities they serve. Yet because many law enforcement agencies rely on outdated, paper-based data collection technologies, officers and detectives often find themselves spending too much time at police headquarters writing reports and searching for records.
Additionally, 911 call takers need reliable and secure dispatch systems to effectively help police officers get to crime scenes promptly. However, 911 call centers sometimes deal with system crashes and downtime that get in the way of their mission-critical jobs.

Richmond, CA Success Story
How The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Trained on Mark43 RMS in 13 Days
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) serves the third-most populous county in Oregon with approximately 500 sworn and civilian staff. In 2018, the department began to outgrow its homegrown records management system (RMS) as the county urbanized and crime began to increase. CCSO migrated to Versaterm’s RMS which quickly proved to be a costly and destructive investment. The Versaterm implementation took roughly 3,000 hours and cost the agency significant overtime pay. Post-deployment, deputies felt that Versaterm was clunky, slow, and cumbersome for entering data. Reporting time increased and crime analysis suffered as a result.
See how a 13-day Mark43 implementation reversed these issues for the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
